The biggest surprise of the night was The White Lotus. The show’s won an astounding 10 Emmys total – the most overall amongst all series. The series won best limited series, as well as acting, directing and writing awards.

Zendaya won her second lead actress award for a drama series, following her 2020 win. She’s become the youngest actress to have won twice in the category. The biggest surprise of the night was Squid Game, winning lead actor Lee Jung-jae his first lead actor for a drama series as well as directing. The popular Korean show won six awards total.

Other stars like Matthew Macfadyen, Michael Keaton, Murray Bartlett, Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Coolidge and Sheryl Lee Ralph also won their first acting Emmy awards in their respective categories.
