The day has come for music lovers and Spotify users across the globe. On Wednesday, the music streaming service unleashed the Spotify Wrapped 2022 – an annual recap of your musical taste throughout the year.

This year’s Wrapped brought in new features, like a Myers-Briggs personality type based on your music taste. Spotify also presented users with a chart that shows how their mood changes during the day.

Then, as it usually does, the app displayed the total minutes an user spent streaming songs, their top artists, songs, genres and podcasts.

The recap feature is undoubtedly one of the most popular parts of the streaming giants. Users usually wait for months until its release, and it was no different for Spotify Wrapped 2022.

The feature itself works well as a marketing tool, since Spotify is currently the number one streaming music service in the world. Its annual data recap usually trends for days on social media, and tells the world what everyone is listening to the most.

What features does the Spotify Wrapped 2022 have?

This year’s recap displayed the common features everyone’s used to (top artists, songs, and etc.). However, it also had some new interesting information for its users. See below what was new in the Spotify Wrapped 2022.

  • Spotify showed its users how their music listening habits evolve throughout the day with a feature called “audio day”. The streaming used your favorite tunes divided into morning, daytime and night.
  • Users also got sorted into different listening personalities with “your listening personality”. This feature describes the user’s approach to music between 16 variations.
  • The music streaming service also expanded its “your artist messages” with over 40,000 artists dropping their thank yous to fans. Last year, Spotify had little over 100 artists taking part in the feature. If amongst your top artists is one that pre-recorded this feature, you should be able to see it in your feed.

You can share your Spotify Wrapped 2022 on pretty much any social media, and Spotify added a few new ones this year like Line and WhatsApp. Snapchat partnered with the service and launched a special lens effect that shows your Listening Personality.

You can only watch your Spotify Wrapped 2022 on the Spotify mobile app. The app is available for Android and iOS in their respective Web Stores. But to do so, you need to make sure your app is updated to the latest version, which is 8.7.78.

Once you open the app, you should see multiple points to access your Wrapped experience. There are banners in the home screen, search screen and library tabs. There’s also a big banner with “your 2022 in review” on your profile page.

Users can generally access their Wrapped feature for over a month after its release. So if you want to revisit it a couple of times before it’s gone, you can do it well into January 2023.

If you’re having trouble finding your Spotify Wrapped 2022, there’s a possibility you haven’t listened to too many songs in the app to generate a recap.

To be eligible for the feature, users need to stream more than five artists and over 30 songs for more than 30 seconds between January 1st and October 31.
