In the world of collecting, you can get a got value out of the rarest toys ever made. This can be due to several factors, such as limited production, high demand, or simply the passage of time.

Whatever the reason, these rare toys can be extremely valuable, sometimes fetching tens of thousands of dollars at auction.

Collectors highly covet these treasures.

Some toys are so rare that you’ll never see them in stores. Others are so unique that you can only find them on special occasions.

Here are some of the most rare and most unique toys ever made. Anyone lucky enough to own one of these treasures will have a lot of fun playing with them!

1. The Holy Grail of Barbie Dolls:

In 2010, Mattel released a one-of-a-kind Barbie doll to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the iconic toy.

The doll was dressed in a replicated version of the original 1959 black and white swimsuit and came with a stand and certificate of authenticity.

Only 100 of these dolls were made, making it one of the rarest Barbie dolls in existence and a very especial toy..

2. Mego Elastic Batman:

Among the most rare and most valuable toys are those from the Mego company. One of the most sought-after Mego toys is the Elastic Batman.

This toy was released in 1978 and was only available for a short time before it was discontinued. There are less than 10 known examples of this toy in existence, making it one of the most coveted toys on the market today.

If you are lucky enough to find one of these clear plastic Batcaves, you can expect to pay upwards of $10,000 for it.

In 1995, Steiff released a replica of Buzz Lightyear from the popular Toy Story movies. The toy was made with real mohair fur and came complete with a special certificate of authenticity.

Unfortunately, production problems led to the recall of the toy before it could reach store shelves. As a result, only a handful of these Buzz Lightyears are known to exist, making them extremely rare.

4. The Cabbage Patch Kids ” Millennium babies”:

In 2000, Mattel released four special editions of Cabbage Patch Kids dolls to commemorate the new millennium.

The dolls were each named after a different season (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) and came with their own birth certificate.

Unfortunately, production problems led to the recall of the dolls before they could reach store shelves. As a result, only a handful of these Millennium babies are known to exist, making them extremely rare.

5. The Beanie Babies “Peanut” Elephant:

In 2000, Ty Inc released an exclusive PE final run Beanie Baby elephant named “Peanut.” The elephant was retired shortly after its release and is now one of the most sought-after Beanie Babies among collectors.

As a result, “Peanut” elephants can sell for hundreds or even thousands of dollars on secondary markets such as eBay as one of the rarest toys.

6. President Furby:

President Furby is one of the most rare and most collectible toys. Produced in 2000, only a handful of these toys were ever made. As a result, they can sell for hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

It has a presidential Seal on its chest and two badges, one with the USA flag and another saying “Furby for president”. These features make it a highly sought-after toy for collectors. If you’re lucky enough to own one of these, you can be sure it will be worth a lot of money.

7. The Beanie Babies “Peanut” Elephant:

The “Peanut” the Elephant Beanie Baby is one of the rarest toys. With its big ears, soft trunk, and friendly eyes, this little elephant is hard to resist.

But it’s the fact that only a handful of these toys exist that makes them so valuable. Peanut was released in 1995 as part of a special “royal family” collection.

Due to an error at the factory, only a handful of these elephants were made. As a result, they are extremely hard to find and command high prices on the secondary market.

If you’re lucky enough to see one of these rare toys, be prepared to pay a pretty penny for it!

8. First Edition Monopoly Set

Released in 1935, the set includes a board, Tokens, Chance and Community Chest cards, and play money.

While the game has undergone many changes over the years, the first edition set is still highly sought after by collectors and is one of the rarest toys in the world.

A complete set has sold for as much as $146,500 at auction in recent years. While that may seem like a lot of money for a board game, it’s clear that the first edition Monopoly set is a true collector’s item.
