The 2023 Academy Awards takes place this Sunday. It brings a plethora of movie stars and behind-the-scenes artists to Hollywood’s biggest event in Los Angeles.

For the third year in a row, Jimmy Kimmel – the late-night host – will host the ceremony. The 95th Academy Awards starts at 8 p.m. ET at the Dolby Theatre. You can catch the live broadcast on YouTube, ABC (on TV, website, and app) and TNT.

Other than the nominees, this year’s Oscars secured a stacked lineup of presenters with names like Pedro Pascal, Harrison Ford, Halle Bailey, Melissa McCarthy, and Emily Blunt. John Travolta is also set to come back as a presenter after the fiasco in 2014.

This year’s Academy Awards will also feature musical performances by Rihanna, who will perform her song “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – her first release since 2016.

Rahul Sipligunj and Kala Bhairava are also set to perform the hit song “Naatu Naatu” from Bollywood’s phenomenon “RRR”.

Lady GaGa was originally scheduled to perform during the night’s “In Memoriam” segment, but had to cancel due to scheduling conflicts. Lenny Kravitz should take her place, as confirmed by Oscars producers earlier this week.

Who will win big at the 95th Academy Awards?

Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert’s “Everything Everywhere All at Once” – the acclaimed multiverse sci-fi – leads the nominations with 11 nods, at least one nom in every important category.

Not too far behind is “The Banshees of Inisherin”, from Martin McDonagh. “All Quiet on the Western Front”, the German movie from Netflix and director Edward Berger follows suit. Both films have 9 nominations each.

This year’s Academy Awards contenders look very different from the last two years nominees for the most prestigious accolades.

In 2022, most of the highest honors winners were projects backed by streaming services. Now in 2023, it seems that the tides have turned.

The 2023’s Oscars is full of films that performed well at the theater and were responsible for bringing audiences back to the cinema.

These movies are followed by forthright dramas, incredible comedies, and a couple of non-fiction projects. And, as it generally is, the biggest accolade in most categories of the Academy Awards is anyone’s game.

So, who are you rooting for, or did your favorite movie of the year even make the list? Make sure to catch the ceremony Sunday night. And while you wait, here’s how you can watch movies online for free – legally.
