One of the hidden features of iOS 16 is being able to effortlessly view and share saved Wi-Fi passwords.

In just a few simple steps, you can reveal the hidden password with ease. By heading over to your device’s Settings, and Wi-Fi page and tapping on an information icon next to a network’s name, you can gain access to its hidden password.

Then all you need to do is use Face ID or enter your passcode, tap “Copy” to copy the password into your clipboard, and start sharing it with your friends.

Merge duplicate photos and videos

One hidden iOS 16 feature is easily finding and removing duplicate photos and videos.

By accessing Photos > Albums, you’ll see a special Duplicates album that Apple has put together for you.

This album scans your entire photo library and shows any images or videos with more than one copy.

Next, you can either delete any duplicates to free up storage space on your device or choose to Merge them, which will keep only the photo/video with the highest resolution and accompanying data.

Use Siri to hang up a phone or FaceTime call

Among hidden gems in the new operating system is a much-anticipated Call Hang Up feature that has perplexed Siri users since its inception.

Not only does this make life easier for those using the virtual assistant, but it also solves an old problem.

With just a few taps in Settings and then saying “Hey Siri,” users can ask their virtual assistant to hang up their current phone call or FaceTime video chat, making Siri finally capable of handling the job.

Copy and paste photo and video edits

This feature allows for users to copy and paste saturation, contrast, and brightness edits between photos with the simple click of a button.

Once you are done editing one image or video, launch the Photos app and hit Copy Edits from the three-dot menu in the top right corner.

Then open up the photo you would like to apply these same edits to. Tap on the three-dot menu and select Paste Edits. Before you know it, your new photo will be edited exactly like its predecessor!

Pin your favorite tabs in Safari

One hidden feature on iOS 16 is the ability to pin your favorite tabs in Safari. This is incredibly useful if you have 500 tabs open and it’s hard to find exactly which one you’re looking for.

By pressing down on an open tab and choosing Pin Tab, the tab will move to the top of Safari as a tiny preview that you can easily tap whenever necessary. When you press down again and unpin a tab, it will move to first in your grid of open tabs.

Taking advantage of this hidden but powerful feature will help you make the most out of multi-tab browsing with your iPhone or iPad.

Use Face ID while you’re lying down

Until now, if you wanted to use Face ID, you would have to hold your phone in portrait orientation, which isn’t always convenient.

But with this update, as long as you have an iPhone 13 or 14 running iOS 16, you can unlock it using Face ID when it’s in landscape mode.

This feature makes life a bit easier for everyone who regularly finds themselves trying to unlock their phone while lying down!

Copy your screenshots to your clipboard without saving them

iOS 16’s hidden features are revolutionizing how we share screenshots. Now you don’t have to save the image to your phone and then find it in your photo album.

After taking a screenshot, you must tap the preview, hit Done, and then tap Copy and Delete – this will immediately copy the screenshot to your clipboard.

From there, you can delete it from your phone and paste it wherever you’d like!
