Is it possible to shut down Disney?
It’s the stuff childhood dreams are made of – being able to rent out the happiest place on earth for a day, and having the place to yourselves. But is it actually possible? And if so, how much would it cost to shut down Disney?
There are a lot of people who would love to rent Disney World or Disneyland for a day. Unfortunately, it is not possible to rent either of these parks.
It would be a logistical nightmare for Disney to close down a single Disney park. There are simply too many moving parts and too many people who would need to be accommodated.
In addition, it would be incredibly expensive to shut down a park for even one day. So, if you’re dreaming of renting Disneyland for your birthday party, you’re out of luck.

How much would it cost to shut down?
Hypothetically speaking, how much would it cost to shut down Disneyland for a day?
If we consider that Disney makes an estimated $6-$10 million dollars per day from park attendance, then we can assume that it would cost a pretty penny to shut the park down for private use.
However, this fee does not include earnings from shops and restaurants in Downtown Disney, so the total cost could be even higher.
If you have deep pockets and a strong desire to have the Happiest Place on Earth all to yourself, then be prepared to shell out a significant amount of money. Otherwise, you’ll just have to enjoy the magic of Disneyland like the rest of us!
Disneyland Weddings
Have you ever wanted to get married at Disneyland? Well, you’re in luck! The Disneyland Resort offers wedding packages for people looking to celebrate their special day at the Happiest Place on Earth.
You can host your event before or after operational hours, so you’ll have the park all to yourself! Two types of weddings are available: the “Wishes Collection” and the “Escape Collection.”
The Wishes Collection is for couples who want to go all-out and have a larger budget for their Disney wedding. The price of this package starts at $15,000 for at least 18 guests. That’s the cost to shut Disney down for your wedding!
The Escape Collection is for smaller wedding groups with up to 18 guests. The total cost starts at $6,500. So whether you’re looking for a small and intimate gathering or a large and lavish affair, Disneyland has you covered!
Renting parts of the park
If you’re looking to have an event at Disneyland but don’t want to rent out the entire park, you can still have your event at the happiest place on earth. You can rent out a specific area of the park for your event.
The price for renting out a specific area or ride starts at $50,000 for four hours. If you want to have your event in Adventure Land or Downtown Disney, the prices start at around $250,000.
So if you’re planning on throwing a party at Disneyland, make sure you have deep pockets!
Why you can’t rent out Disneyland
If you thought it would be fun to have Disneyland all to yourself for a day, you’re not alone. Many people dream about it: shut Disney down to have it just for themselves, no matter the cost.
However, it’s unlikely that the park would be willing to close its doors to the public for just one person, no matter how much they were willing to pay.
The reason has less to do with finances and more with logistics. shutting down regular operations for even one day is a massive undertaking, and most people who want to visit the park plan their trip weeks or even months in advance.
Imagine how frustrating it would be for a family to take a trip to Disneyland only to have the park closed for a private event.
As a result, it’s simply not worth the hassle for Disneyland to make an exception for one person, no matter how rich or famous they may be.
