The American Express Essential® Credit Card does not offer mobile phone insurance as a standard benefit. However, American Express may offer mobile phone insurance as an optional add-on coverage called “Mobile Device Protection” through its “AMEX Assurance” program for an additional fee. This coverage provides protection against accidental damage or theft of your mobile phone and may be added to your Essential® Credit Card account as an optional coverage.

The American Express Essential® Credit Card is widely accepted at millions of merchants in over 200 countries and territories worldwide that accept American Express cards. You can use your card to make purchases at most places that accept credit or charge cards, including supermarkets, gas stations, restaurants, retail stores, and online merchants. However, please note that acceptance of American Express cards may vary by merchant and country.

The American Express Essential® Credit Card offers a limited form of travel insurance coverage, but it is not as comprehensive as the coverage provided by other American Express cards. The travel insurance benefits provided by the American Express Essential® Credit Card include Car Rental Loss and Damage Insurance, Travel Accident Insurance, and a Global Assist® Hotline with 24/7 assistance.
