Yes. Since the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Credit Card is a travel rewards card, it has a few requirements that make it harder to get than cards from other categories. To increase your approval odds, a good or excellent score is recommended. You also need a high, steady annual income and have to meet other criteria such as a low debt to income ratio, low number of open accounts and more.

All new members have an initial credit line of at least $5,000. However, that amount can be higher depending on your overall creditworthiness and annual income. While the bank doesn’t disclose its maximum amount, having a positive credit history can help you get a higher limit.

You’ll earn 60,000 bonus points once you make at least $4,000 in purchases within the first three months of membership. You can either redeem those points as $750 worth of travel with Chase Ultimate Rewards® or $600 in statement credits.
