There’s a chance another big sale might happen as soon as October.
Amazon Prime Day usually happens once a year, and this year’s run ended in July. However, many signs are pointing to another event happening sometime during fall. According to a few Amazon representatives, the company is currently working on some big sales event to happen as soon as October.
The new Prime Day is a second opportunity for shoppers to snag deals and discounts on thousands of items on Amazon’s e-commerce website. According to a few media outlets, this second sales event is going to be called “Early Access”.
When was Prime Day 2022?
This year’s first sales event started on July 12 and ended on July 13. With the exception of its 2020 run – which had a slight scheduling change because of covid – Amazon Prime Day usually happens during the summer. In 2022, it was no different.

So will there be another sales event in 2022?
As rumor has it, this year’s second Amazon Prime Day will likely take place in October, with a possible date being somewhere during the week of October 10. If this is really the case, it’ll be the second time that Amazon holds its big sales event in the fall.
Back in 2020, the company was forced to push the event to October because of covid-19 restrictions before returning to its summer slot in 2021. This year, Prime Day repeated the previous year’s models and gave shoppers 48 hours to take advantage of discounts and deals online.
However, it is unclear whether its second Prime Day will be a one-day event or if it’ll take place in 48 hours like it usually does.
Do you need a Prime membership to shop during the event?
The short answer is yes and no. No, because the e-commerce website has a Daily Deals webpage in which you get access to great discounts even if you’re not a member. Yes, because the best Prime Day offers are exclusive for members. While there’s not a lot of news on the subject as of yet, we can expect the new Prime Day to be no different.
There are quite a few benefits to becoming an Amazon member besides Prime Day, like free shipping on eligible purchases and access to the company’s streaming services. If you’re not currently a subscriber, you can get a 30-day free trial which will grant you access to all of that, including the new Prime Day when it happens.
