This is a platinum credit card, which means it’s harder to get than most cards from other categories. Having an excellent credit score and a high annual income will increase your approval odds. However, a good score with a high income may also be enough. Amex provides all new applicants with a pre-qualification process, so you can check your odds online without harming your score.
